We will be looking at what it means to show love to one another in the household of Faith. Galatians 6 contains the theme verse for this subject:
Galatians 6:10 – As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
The three points to take away from this verse are:
- “As we have therefore opportunity” This means “whenever an opportunity arises” we take action!
- “Let us do good unto ALL men” This means that we are to be loving and gracious to ALL. (“Men” is generic, meaning All People)
- “Especially unto them who are of the household of faith” We are good to all, and especially good to each other as fellow believers!
Here are some examples from the scripture for how to show love in the household of God:
1 John 4:7: – Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
Basically just love other people and be available for them! Give your life and time to whomever has a need. Give of your abundance and watch as God rewards you.
Each one of us can also communicate knowledge with one another, instructing, leading, and sharing the Word of God.
Out of all the things that you can do with your life and time, putting God first is the most important!
Galatians 5:13 – For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
God has given us such freedom and grace in this day and time. It would be easy to take His grace for granted. Instead we are to love and serve one another with God’s love at the center of our lives.
Mark 12:30-31 – And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these
If you take away anything from this sermon, remember this principle. It is very important and sums up the grace administration in which we live beautifully.
“Love God and Love People”
What are the benefits of living this way?
Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his [God’s] purpose.
As we live in God’s love, all things work together for good in our lives. We may not always have all the answers, but we know who does!
I John 4:4 – Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
“God knows all about you and still loves you”
“God so loved that He gave; now we must so give that others can learn to live”
God Bless You!
